We’re not so different

Something that I think is important is showing that just because I’m disabled, I’m not that different from you. I love dogs and gett tattoos, I drink Dr. Pepper, I go to college, I like to dress in cute outfits, I listen to music, you get the idea.

It’s really easy to look at someone and immediately assume that since they look, act, or seem different than you, that you must not have anything in common or to talk about.

Disabled people have passions and interests. Disabled people love to have conversations. We’re not so different, I promise.

I encourage you to approach someone that looks different from you this week. You may surprise yourself and make a new friend :)
