Aspergers isn’t a thing?

Language is constantly changing and it can be hard to keep track. So I wanted to remind everyone that Aspergers is no longer a diagnosis in the DSM-5 since 2013, rather it falls under Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The history of this word is not pretty. Hitler used Aspergers as a way to differentiate who was sent into camps and who wasn’t. People also use this as differentiating who is “high-functioning” and “low-functioning”, both terms that are also harmful to the autistic community.
