Treatment
Something I don’t share too often is that I was in treatment… for a lot of things… before finding the accommodations, medicine, and different ways to live.
Being in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), taking a LOT of meds, and working with multiple specialists was the best thing I could do for myself when I couldn’t do anything else.
But the treatment that has been the most effective and life-changing — by far — was getting Cassie, my service dog.
There is no reason to be ashamed or feel guilty because you are in or in need of treatment. Those resources are available so that your life can improve as a whole. But those feelings are also justifiable.
This is just a really quick reminder that you are NOT alone. You will never be alone. And I understand the beauty and challenges that come with being in treatment, taking time away from things you prefer to do, and giving it back to yourself.
I’m proud of you. Come back for next weeks blog, I post weekly at 10am EST!
